5 Tips for Choosing Wedding Flowers
There isn’t a right way or wrong way to pick your wedding flowers. It’s all a matter of preference! The challenging part is trying to narrow down which flowers to use and how to arrange them for your bouquets, centerpieces, and decor. Let’s start with these 5 tips for choosing wedding flowers.
1. What’s Your Budget?
This is actually a great tip for everything (personal, business and eventwise!). Decide how much you can spend on flowers and then start looking for inspiration on wedding websites and Pinterest. If you have your heart set on a certain flower, but it’s outside your budget, ask your wedding florist for inexpensive alternatives.
2. Focus Your Flowers
Ideally, flowers everywhere would be great! But, that’s not in most people’s budget. Focus your flower budget on your bouquets, a statement centerpiece at the ceremony and then centerpieces for the reception. Any extra money you have can go toward other floral decor for your ceremony or reception.
3. Visit a Paint Store
What?! But they don’t sale flowers!
Nope. They do have color swatches and you might find that perfect shade of tangerine, pink or yellow (or any color) you’ve been searching for. It’s all about finding inspiration for your big day, so don’t limit yourself!
Be sure you know what flowers will be in bloom for your wedding before you set everything in motion. There are safe choices too that are available year round (hydrangeas and roses to name a couple). Talk with your florist and he or she will be able to tell you what flowers are available for each season.
5. Let Your Personality Shine
Your wedding should be a reflection of who you are, and the same is true for the flowers you pick. If you’re having difficulty decided (because all flowers are pretty), then go with your unique personality. Are you preppy, feminine, or quirky? No matter your personality there is a perfect flower for you!
